5 months!

Whitt's 5 month birthday started out with a bang! RSV is the pits and he got to spend his first official day as a 5 month old being discharged from the hospital! But, he survived! We just got back from the doctor for his follow up appt., and he still has quite a bit of junk in his chest. So breathing treatments for 5 more days every 4-6 hours. We're hoping that by the end of next week this yuck is over with! We also got news today that he is going to get to wear a head band!!! The x-rays showed that his head wasn't flat enough to receive intervention. But when we went in today, I asked his doctor to actually look at his head and not the xray report and after a 2 second look he agreed that he was going to definitely need a band to help correct it! So, I'm waiting on a call from the nurse to make our first appointment in Dallas! It's going to be a beating going back and forth to Dallas so often, but at least we will get to see Josh's family and our sweet niece Charli (who should be here any day) more often!!! ; ) I'm sure Gabby and Grumps will like that!
So, what has Whitten been up to (other than being sick)?

-We have backed off of rice cereal because it stopped you up so much. I'm going to start oatmeal today, so hopefully you can digest that a little bit better.

-I'm pretty sure we are going to have to start adding in baby food soon! You are a hungry little guy!

-Nursing?!?!? You have decided it's just not for you! After much frustration and begging and pleading and even a little crying, you just are not a fan....except for in the middle of the night. This totally breaks my heart into a million pieces, but I just don't want to fight it any more! I've been pumping in the morning and at night and am getting enough to get you to 6 months. You will also take formula....Enfamil only!!! I've tried others, but you gag on them! The prices of formula make me want to gag, but I've tried everything...even starving you! I should have never introduced the bottle....coulda', shoulda', woulda'!

-Being sick has kind of messed up your sleeping habits. For the most part you go down between 8 and 9. Wake up for a feed between 4 and 5 and go right back down until 8. Last night you slept from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.

-We still swaddle you from the waist down

-You still don't have a set nap schedule. However, you can handle being up for about 2 hours and then you need to go down. Naps last anywhere from 30 min. to 2 hours. The 2 hour nap doesn't happen often!

-You can put yourself to sleep about 50% of the time with just a little bit of fussing! You don't like your bouncy seat very much anymore and prefer to be walked around with your booty patted until you get sleepy enough to go to bed. If we sit down with you, you wake right up!!!! When you get over this yucky sickness, it's time for you to cry it out!!

-You are still wearing a size 2 diaper

-You are wearing 6-9 month clothing (but 6 month is getting a bit snug)

-You are soooo close to rolling over. If I put you in a certain position, you can throw your leg over and roll. Shouldn't be too long!

-You are totally fascinated by your big brother!! You can be completely grumpy or upset and if you see Cooper, your whole face lights up!

-You are still super chatty and have the cutest dimpled smile in the whole world!

-Your daddy can always make you laugh.

-You started taking a paci right before you got sick for about 2 days, but have since decided it's poison again.

-Still no teeth

-You're so amazing!!

And....here's Coop at 5 months!
