Grilled "X" and a Retired Frog!

What a title!!! Ha! Well, my first story has to do with Coop's obsession with letters and hiding them in his secret hiding places. I was pretty sure I knew where most of these places were.....wine fridge (so pointless and hoping to get it taken out soon), pantry, fireplace and in various cabinets in the kitchen. Welp, Josh came home the other day and wanted to make some burgers, so I plugged in the George Forman grill...and, well.....would you like a Grilled X for dinner!?

My second "sad" story is.... the time has come to retire the ORIGINAL Frog lovey (aka Bibbit)! He was given to Coop by my sweet friend, Whitney, from First Euless (miss y'all so much!)! I thought he was oh-so-cute and just assumed that it would be a fun little frog for Coop to play with when he was a bit older!
Well, my little man did not suck his thumb or take a paci, so we decided to try an assortment of loveys to see if they would work as a soother. He tried out a few before we introduced Bibbit...and it was all over after that!!! Coop loves to chew on his toes....and after a while, it just got darn gross!! We have washed him and bleached him so many times that he is finally starting to fall apart. As you can tell in the pics....even with bleach, his toes are still stained!! Ugh! Never fear, I have just ordered a THIRD Bibbit (the second one stays at my mom's, but is currently residing at our house until the new one arrives). The funny thing is, he doesn't seem to suck on the new frogs toes as much!! However, his little face still lights up when he sees his new froggy.....thank goodness he doesn't have a preference! Now, I just hope we can get him weaned before Kindergarten!

Last Letter Update....

Just documentation for me!!
Coop knows ALL of his letters...well, except for "N"....he still calls it an "M"!! It's so fun when we are driving down the road and he sees a sign and starts calling out the letters!! So cool to see his little brain learn knew things every day!

Letter Update and More!!

So, Coop has almost all of his ABC's down! I posted a video on Facebook if you want to check it out! http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=name&id=1535760019 . He got a little bored towards the end, so we only made it to "U"! And, yes, I left the "N" out because he gets the "M" and the "N" confused!!
On another note, I think I have finally succumbed to the fact that Cooper Pooper is most likely going to live up to his name! Over the last few weeks, he has really started to show some 'tude! Not excited about this at all. My brothers and I were all really low key and fairly easy babies (from what my mom tells me). Josh's parents say that Josh was really well behaved and a good baby, too! We've decided that it must be a recessive gene!!! SO.....I guess this means that I'm off to Barnes and Noble sometime this week to stock up on some books on how to discipline a 1 1/2 yr. old! I was that mom that thought I would have a super easy baby! Dang!!!! I'm pretty sure I'll be experiencing many temper tantrums in the middle of grocery stores....actually had our 1st one yesterday! Don't get me wrong, he is SUPER sweet and so affectionate that I literally just want to eat him up every day, but I can just feel it coming! Hey.....at least he knows his ABC's! HA!
Here are a few pics from the past week!

All Nighter!

So, Coop finally pulled his first all nighter! He went to bed at about 7:45 and I heard him coughing a bit, so I just kept an ear on him to make sure it wasn't getting worse. At 9:45, he started crying and saying "Momma-ho" (yes, he puts ho on the end of everything now....it used to be toe!! sounds like he's calling me a bad name!). I knew when he was calling for me, something was up, so I decided to just go check on him and give him some medicine for his coughing. The minute I opened the door, I was slapped in the face with some gnarly smell and I knew we were in trouble. Coop had thrown up all over everything....and the fun began. Josh was at work, so I called my mom at 10:00 to bring over his frog lovee reinforcement that we keep over at her house when Coop stays with her. His original frog was covered in throw up, and he screamed bloody murder when he saw me put him in the washing machine! DeeDee TO THE RESCUE!!!! I truly don't know what I would do without her....I'm so blessed that we live in the same town....wish we were just right down the street!! = )
Anyway, we turned on Bibbit (aka Leap Frog: The Letter Factory) and he was just talking up a storm telling us all about the letters and the bibbits. He wasn't really too feverish....about 100, but nothing that I was concerned about. Josh got home(and cleaned up Coopi's mess...such a sweet hubby)....DeeDee went home about 11....Coop went back down about 11:30.
1:00 a.m......"Momma-ho". So, Momma-ho cleaned up Coop and the second round of throw up and put little man in bed with us. He slept until about 3:30 and woke up moaning and was really hot, so I took him in the other room so Daddy could sleep. AND we were up until 6:30. Mind you, we weren't throwing up.....just watching tv!!! Ahhhh! I was so mad at myself for even turning it on, but it was the only thing that helped him to settle down and stop being fidgety. Big mistake! ( Side note: Coop loves tv, so we have to really monitor it. He gets about 45 minutes spread out throughout the day. Ha! I totally just defended myself! But we really don't let him sit in front of the tv all day!) Anyway, I'm so thankful that I wasn't cleaning up puke and duke all night, but Momma-ho was tired and Coop wouldn't sleep anywhere. He finally fell asleep on me at 6:30. I debated on whether or not to put him down or just sleep on the couch, but I knew I wouldn't sleep at all...so I risked it, and he went right down. He woke up at 9....grumpy, but not miserable! We haven't had any more throwing up so far, so hopefully we're in the clear. I know it could have been a MILLION times worse, so I'm thankful that our first all nighter was not all that adventurous!!! = ) Oh, and to end the day off with a bang. Josh got home from work at 5 and I ran to Rosa's to get dinner. Um...I was going 50 in a 35 and got pulled over. I just knew I was going to jail for going 15 miles over the speed limit. I guess the cop took one look at me and felt sorry for me (i'm pretty sure I didn't brush my teeth today...so that gives you an idea on what i looked like!) But Cop Johnson just gave me a warning!!!! Note to self: don't drive when you've only had about one hour of sleep!!

Letters!

K...this post is really just for me! This is Coop's baby book because I am WAY too lazy to actually write things down!
Cooper's really been interested in letters the last few months. It started out by painting "C's" and "B's" on the sidewalk at DeeDee's house! From there, he's picked up on a few here and there by just looking at them on different things....books, table, signs!! Well, we went to East TX this past week and homeboy must watch a dvd in order to make the trip doable! I got him some Leap Frog videos this Christmas, and he basically watched the Letter Factory all the way there and back....totaling about 8 hours in all...ha! So, guess what....Cooper knows lots of letters! His favorite thing is for me to "color" them so he can identify them out loud! Here are the letter he knows for good! Several others are almost there, but they won't count until he gets them every time!!
A, B, C, E, I, K, M, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U. Yay, Coop!! Oh, and he no longer counts to 4. I guess that was a fluke. But he does get the concept of counting. However, it's "2, 3, 2, 3, 2, 3" over and over!! We'll get there some day!! HA!

Funny pics! Coop likes to hide when he's taking care of business!!!
