FINALLY!!!

Well, my baby boy has finally deciced that he's going to CRAWL!!! He's been on all fours for about a month now...rocking back and forth, but mostly making backwards progress! Well, at 7 months, 2 weeks and 5 days, Cooper decided to crawl over at Dee Dee and Grandpa's house! Josh was out of town hunting and he had the video camera, so we haven't caught this milestone on video yet, but that will be coming soon! OH, while my mom and I were at the doctor's office today, we noticed that Mr. Man has cut his first tooth! Of course I'm excited about this, but also a little nervous!!!! Since I don't have any pictures of these fabulous feats, I thought I would share some pics from our Midland Christmas! I'm rich!

Josh, Cooper and I had and amazing time this past weekend hanging out in East Texas with Gabby and Pa Grumps! Cooper had an absolute blast riding in the wagon, fishing, playing with the dogs, not taking naps, getting lots of new toys, hanging out with Nanny, Papa, Aunt Jadi and Uncle Judd, and just being the "king" for 4 days! He is SO in love with his Aunt Jadi!!!! When he saw her for the first time, he reached for her like she was his best friend! My boy already loves pretty girls! We're already counting down the days until we go back!

And this is what I found....

Today, I heard Coop squawking as he usually does when he is waking up from his nap! I was trying to finish drying my hair before I rushed in to rescue him! I figured Coop would just ROLL around, suck on his lovee and sing a couple of songs while learning some patience! Welp, he learned a new trick today.....
As Josh and I were lowering the mattress, Coop decided to practice crawling, and he ended up here...

Well, for Coop's first holiday he decided to get sick....and RSV of all things! We ended up in the emergency room the day after Thanksgiving because his doctor's office was closed....thank goodness we got there early. We walked right in, but by the time we got out of there, there were 20 people in the waiting room. Don't know how this happened...he's not in day care and not around other kids! It's so sad! I hope it passes quickly!

6 month pics

Newbie!

I was just looking at some old pics of my growing boy! I still can't believe he has been here for 1/2 of a year!!!!! He was so tiny!! He was about a week old in this picture and the little green outfit he was wearing is preemie....oh how he has grown!

Nanny Visits!

Nanny came to visit Cooper this weekend! They had a great time hanging out and playing with each other! Of course, Cooper decided he needed a LONG nap on the day Nanny was in town...2 whole hours!!! I guess you have to take them when you can get them!

6 Month Stats!

6 months
15 lbs. 13 oz. (45th percentile)
27 inches (80th percentile)

When he was born his stats were:

6 lbs. 5 oz (10th percentile)
19 1/2 inches (25th percentile)

Big boy sure has grown!

Now, you have to remember the I was induced early because they thought Coop was measuring too small and they thought something might be wrong! I don't consider a 6 lb. baby all that small. I talked to a lady at the doctor's office today that said her baby was born 4 lbs. 13 oz.........and she wasn't induced because her baby was too small!!! I'm still at a loss as to why there was so much concern over Cooper's size. It sure made for a traumatic last month of my pregnancy! I'm just SO blessed that we have a happy HEALTHY baby boy!!

By the way, when we got back from the doc...it was WAY past his naptime (he had been awake for 4 hours)! He was sacked out in the car seat and as I tried to transfer him into the bed....he woke up crying! He cried for almost an hour before he fell alseep....this time he has his arm around his lovee instead of in that crazy position he ended up in yesterday! Crying it out sure is hard for mama...but I know he needed some sleep!

Nap time!

Coop has decided that napping is for the birds! He's been having a really hard time lately going down and the "cry it out" method is just too much for me! I've tried it before and he ended up very hoarse and without a voice for about 2 weeks! Well, after being awake for a good 5 1/2 hours yesterday WITHOUT a nap, I decided that today is a new day....he's going to have to figure this one out! So at 12:30, we go back and do our usual ritual...rock, sing, nurse (even though I try really hard not to nurse him down...I was giving him every advantage I could think of). So he falls asleep nursing (which I know is not always the best thing...but, hey, this boy needed his sleep)!!! As I begin to lay him down, he looks up at me and smiles! That always gets me...but not this time! I have to be strong. So I leave the room and the water works start within 2.5 seconds! I told myself I was going to give him an hour....he cried for 36 min....and ended up in this position. I really wanted to move him so he wouldn't get a crick in his neck, but I was afraid I was going to wake him up! It is 3:18 right now and he's still asleep!!! WOW! So...he DID need his nap! The "cry it out" method worked....today! = )

Lovee!!

Our sweet baby boy just makes me smile! He does not like pacifiers and is not a thumb sucker...but he LOVES his lovee!! Any time we put him to sleep, we place one of his 3 favorites next to him (the Frog from Whitney, the Dog from Nanny, and the blue lovee with his named monogrammed in the corner from Tia Donna) . Before you know it, he's on his tummy with his arm around his lovee. No matter where he ends up in the middle of the night, that lovee is right there tucked sweetly underneath his arm.

Halloween!

What a great 1st Halloween! Cooper was our cute little lion! He visited Dad (the 3 hole punch) at work and showed off for everyone at the pharmacy! We didn't do any trick-or-treating this year because I would have ended up eating all of his candy! So we just hung out at Dee Dee and Grandpa's house with cousins Conner and Belyn! Good times!

Future Hunter!

Coop enjoyed his first trip to the hunting lease with Mom and Dad! We got to ride in a Ranger while Dad put corn in the feeders! It was a great first experience for Cooper and Mom! Coop is going to love spending time with his dad when he is old enough to hunt! Dad can't wait until the day Cooper gets to use the gun that Aunt Jadi and Uncle Judd got for him last Christmas! It kind of freaks me out a little bit because I didn't grow up around guns and hunting, but I know that his daddy will take good care of him and teach him all about safety!

Sitting Up!!

Yay, Cooper is sitting up! Of course I'm still right there in case he falls over, but he's pretty much got it down!

Blessed!

So, the last couple of days Cooper has been kind of fussy! Not bad fussy, just one of those "uh-uh-uh" kind of things! I think he is so ready to be able to move around...and catch the cat...that he has become frustrated! I've tried everything to make him happy, but I just haven't found the magic button yet! Today as I was nursing him and rocking him to sleep, I looked at his precious little face and became immediately thankful that Josh has given me this opportunity to stay at home to raise our son. God has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams and beyond anything we ever deserve. Second to my salvation, this has been the most amazing blessing God has ever bestowed upon me! Josh, thank you so much for allowing me to stay at home with our sweet baby boy! I know you work so hard and I don't want you to ever think we take that for granted! Cooper and I love you more than anything in the world and we thank you for loving us and providing for us! So, I must remember...when Coop has a "fussy" day....I could be in the classroom teaching...but I'm not....and I thank God for that!

Jumping Bean!!!

Our little jumping bean loves "chasing" the cat!! Notice how he jumps forward and then picks up his feet as he swings backwards! This is actually one of his milder jumping episodes!! We are really going to have our hands full once he starts crawling and walking!! Whew...I'll never have to go the gym again! = )

Nicknames!

My poor little Cooper is going to have such a complex when he is old enough to know that the names we call him are not always so nice...
The two that have stuck since birth are Pumpkin Butt and Coopi Poopi... or Cooper Pooper! Poor kid....we're going to have to come up with some other nicknames soon, or these are going to stick forever!

5 Months!!

New Blogger

Ok!! I have resisted jumping into the blogging world for quite sometime now because I know I'm probably going to be the worlds worst blogger! I'm not very witty, I don't use spell check often enough, and I'm lazy with my grammar....but....I do have a really cute baby and I promise to post lots of pictures! We'll see how this works out! Now I just have to figure out how to post this thing!!!
