What's up with Whitt?!

I have tons of hospital pictures that I still need to upload, but for right now I just want you to know what Whitten is up to!!

Sleep, sleep, sleep, mommy wakes me up to eat, poop, sleep, sleep, sleep sleep, zzzzzzz........
I mean, this boy can snooze!!! We NEVER had to wake Cooper up to eat. He ate every 2 hours for the first month of his life. He was like clock work! Last night I fed Whitt at 2:30 and had to wake him up at 9:00 this morning to feed him! The doc told us not to go longer than 3 hours, but this momma needed some z's! But boy did I pay for it! When the Bessie calls, you better listen! I've been paying for it all day long! My milk came in on day 2 1/2 this time. It was day 7 with Cooper! So, needless to say, mommy is going to have to start waking this sweet pea up more often to eat!

Intuition

Our sweet baby boy knows something is up! It's crazy! Over the last few days, he's been begging to be held like a baby while he drinks his milk. He actually verbalizes it...."Momma, I need you to hold me like a baby." Just this morning I was loving on him and I called him my big boy, but he corrected me and said, "No, no, I'm your baby. Cooper's a baby." What in the whole wide world?!?!? He told me today that Whitten needs to come out! How does he know that? Little does he know that he'll probably want to put Whitten back in once he's out! We were getting a few things in order in Whitt's room last night and Cooper pulled out the bouncy seat and I told him that was baby Whitten's chair. He jumped right in and said, "No, this is baby Cooper's chair!" We are SO in for it! His little world is going to be rocked to the core in just a few days! I know it's part of it, but it just makes me a little sad! I want him to be my baby forever!!! And he will be!
Here's Cooper just 4 days old in his bouncy seat! My oh my!!

Mr. Social

We took Coop to get a "trim" today (no more buzz cut for us) and we promised him if he was good he could go to McDonald's afterwards! Well, big boy was AWESOME!!! Josh and I are pretty sure he ended up with a buzz cut last time was because the girl that cuts his hair was hoping not to see him for the rest of the summer....and she didn't! So, I took him to my lady today! It started off a little rocky....screaming hysterically and clinging on to Daddy! But one big tootsie roll pop later and some Donald Duck on the i-phone....we were good to go! So, we headed on over to McD's for a reward! Gross, but true!!! There were quite a few kids sitting quietly with their family eating their Happy Meals! And then there's Coop!!!! He makes a mad dash to the equipment and yells the top of his lungs, "Come on friends...come play with me!" Nobody gets up! So, he tries again, "Coooommeee ooooonnnn friends, wanna slide with me?" Still, no answer...but lots of stares! One more time, "Boys, lets gooooo!" Eventually, his "friends" slowly joined him and he was the happiest little guy in the whole world! I just can't figure out where he gets his personality?!?! It does make me curious as to what kind of little boy Josh was! I was super shy and timid!! ; ) What a social bug!

How Big is Whitten?!?!?

I totally went to my sono today believing that my baby was at least 8 lbs.! Considering how big I am, I wouldn't have been surprised if they told me he was 10 lbs!!!! But, nope, he's a whopping 6 lbs. 8 oz! He's already bigger than Coop was full term, so at least I was right in thinking I was carrying a larger bundle of joy! I'm pretty sure he'll make it to the 7 lb. mark!! His ventricles continue to look completely normal. His problem vent is now measuring 4-5 mm, which is way below borderline vm. At one point is was 9 mm, but it's seems to have resolved itself. They don't really consider it an issue until they measure 15 mm, and Whitt was never any where close to that! Thank you, Jesus for answered prayers! I do have a little extra fluid, but the doctor didn't seem concerned at all. He's still moving around like a maniac and I'm still having about 100 bh contractions a day....no exaggeration! I actually had one today as I was getting my sonogram and the doc was like whoa....I can see the outline of your uterus! Ha! They are HARD contractions, but they've been that way since week 10!
I am SO ready to meet this little guy!
Here is a quick peek at this bedding. My mom had it made for him at a cute little shop in town called Le Bebe. I'll take more pics of his room when it is finished....yes, you read that right! It is not finished yet!!!!

Baby Names!

Because this will most likely be our last baby, I thought it would be fun to look back years from now and tell Whitten what his name might have been if he were a girl.....and a few of our other boy options!

Boys:

Cullen-of course, Whitt was actually named this for a while, but I like Whitten much better. So I'm happy Cullen became so popular and we changed our minds!

Nolan- after Cullen was out, Nolan was in...for about a week. If we have a third boy, this name will be on the top of the list

Collin- trying some spin-offs from Cullen, it just didn't seem to fit. And, as much as I really like the name, it's pretty popular right now.

Owen- I loved this name right after Cooper was born and was SURE it was going to be our next boy's name...but it became super popular and I was hoping we could find something that wasn't so mainstream.

Britton -Yep, close to Whitten, but I didn't like Britt as a nickname for a boy...too girly! At least Whitt can go either way.

Callan (Callen)- couldn't ever decide on spelling! I now have a sweet friend with a baby girl named Callyn, and it's fits so beautifully as a girls name!

Samuel- Just a beautiful, strong name. And I love the nickname Sam!

Girls:

Maysen: This was my number one pick. I taught a girl named Maysen when I was in H.E.B. and I always told her that if I had a girl, I would name her Maysen. I just love it! Of course this was before it became so popular for a boy, but I think I still would have done it!

Harper: this name was right behind Maysen. LOVE this name! Now I have a sweet friend from our old church that just named her baby girl Harper! Such a pretty name!

Piper: my mom and i loved this name. Josh was not really a fan!

Tenley: Just a fun cute name!!

Charley (Charli) - Mom and I love this name! Fun and so cute!

Holland (or Hollen)- Unique and fun

Carter: I love crossover names for girls!

Before we knew Cooper was a boy, he was going to be named Halle. Middle Name Louise.....Halle Lou!!!! Loved it! Still like the name Halle, but wouldn't do it now!

Our girls middle name was always going to be Louise after my amazing grandmother. Wish we could have carried that name on! Who knows, maybe some day.....
